Spooky Trolly/ Beware of The Dead/MLB

Garza Blanca Preserve Resort & Spa
Halloween
Every year on October 31st, Garza Blanca celebrates Halloween with its spectacular Spooky Trolley, and this year is no exception! Ghosts, goblins, and other spirits from the underworld will gather at Garza Blanca Preserve and transform it, for one night only, into a ‘scary hotel.’ Our famous trolly, resembling a 1930s streetcar, that transports guests daily around Garza Blanca and Hotel Mousai, will be turned into a trolly of terror!

Guests will be summoned to the Garza Blanca Lobby where they will board the Spooky Trolly and prepare for a frightening experience.
Be warned that zombies, the Grim Reaper, and the Exorcist as well as Mexican Legends, Charro Negro and La Llorona, may climb onto the Trolly to lunge at you and your loved ones turning our beautiful Preserve into a terrifying atmosphere. You may be gripped by fear as Zombies grab your ankles or Charro Negro jumps out at you. You will gasp and shriek as we collide with the dead while eerie music plays in the background. You may get spooked and you may get chills, as you encounter these frightening and mysterious creatures. However, it will be a memorable event that is suitable for the whole family.

We don’t have schedules yet, but the Trolley usually departs at dusk.
Day of the Dead
Every culture deals with the concept of death in their own unique way. El Día de Muertos (Day of the Dead) is a day to honor the dead that is celebrated on November 2nd in Mexico and other parts of the world, including in the United States and Canada.
Day of the Dead follows Halloween and is typically celebrated with small, personal altars (ofrendas), food and drink offerings that the dead enjoyed in life, skeletons, and skulls (calacas and calaveras) dressed in fancy clothes, dead bread (pan de muerto) and yellow marigolds, which represent life and hope.

This day is a celebration of the lives of the dead and it is the one day of the year when the dead can reawaken from their eternal sleep to visit with their loved ones. Every year at Garza Blanca Preserve, we have an interdepartmental contest for altars. The competition is open to staff in all departments. The altars will be judged on creativity, decoration, traditional elements, offerings, and originality.
The three best altars will be chosen by the judges and the team who created the altars will be awarded with a cash prize. The altars will be put on display around the resort.
In addition, at the Malecón (the Boardwalk) in Puerto Vallarta there will be an Altars of the Dead Exhibition around the Main Square and an exhibition of giant-sized Catrinas and Catrines all around the boardwalk, which is something quite spectacular to see.

Garza Blanca Puerto Vallarta is also offering:
Catch of the Day: Every Friday from 12:00 pm until 3:00 pm, fresh catch of the day is offered at market prices in the beach area. Huachinango (Red Snapper) is popular in the region prepared Zarandeado Style. Other seafood options are available including shrimp and lobster. The seafood is prepared just the way you like and served with rice and salad.
Tequila Tasting: On Fridays at 4:30 pm, a tequila tasting takes place at Blanca Blue. During the tasting, you will try tequila from different regions in Mexico and learn about the process of making tequila. The tasting is also available on other days with a prior reservation. Join us to try the best tequila in Mexico!
Wine Tasting: Tuesdays and Thursdays at 4:00 pm, Bocados STK holds a wine tasting where you can try 4 labels of wine (mostly Mexican) paired with different cheeses.

MLB World Series

The regular Major League Baseball (MLB) season finished after a shortened season with only a 60-game schedule in 2020 compared with a regular 162-game schedule. More than half the league, 16 teams, gained entrance to the expanded postseason for the first time in MLB history.
There will be eight teams per league in a bracket-style tournament. Teams will be seeded 1-8 and the winners of the first-round matchups will play a best-of-three Wild Card Series. The winners will then advance to the best-of-five League Division Series. Following that they will progress to the final two rounds (LCS and World Series) and play best-of-sevens.
To celebrate the MLB playoffs, Garza Blanca Los Cabos will be showing Game 1 of the World Series on October 20th at Bar 360 on the big screen TV. The two teams playing in the best-of-seven series are still to be determined.
Come to cheer on your favorite MLB team in the most spectacular fashion! There will be a special cocktail along with some snacks during the game. You won’t want to miss a minute of the action!
Pumpkin Carving for Kids
Halloween just wouldn’t be the same without the gap-toothed grin of a jack o’ lantern. Pumpkin carving is an important Halloween tradition that started in Ireland hundreds of years ago. The kids are invited to join us at the kids club for a Halloween Pumpkin Carving Party on October 31st. First, the kids will be shown how to carve a pumpkin. Following the pumpkin carving activity, there will be a contest for the best pumpkin.
